All Sports Weekend
I’m a big sports nut, and this weekend was fun for me. Friday, Melinda and I went to see the “Battle of the Undefeateds” as the 3-0 Dallas Desperados battled the 3-0 Austin Wranglers in a hard fought loss. We bought season tickets after going to the first game against Kansas City and really feel in love with the sport and the atmosphere. The picture is from our seats as the Wranglers kicker missed a field goal wide left. Much to our surprise, a large Austin contingent came up for the game and made a lot of noise for their team.
Diet Pepsi Website + Me = High Comedy
Last weekend, I get an email from my agent telling me that I have an audition for a “Diet Pepsi Website Project” on Saturday. So I go and they explain it’s for a a “Sprockets” parody for the Diet Pepsi website. They play me the song, I dance like an idiot a couple times, they laugh, and I leave thinking what a funny story that will be to tell. Until later that day when they call me and tell me I got the gig and I need to be there at 7:30 the next day. I go, dance in a black unitard to a techo song and think it’s something silly for their website, until I overhear what is was really for.
Anybody see the new P Diddy commercial during the Super Bowl? The one where he decides to sign Diet Pepsi to his label, makes a video and hilarity ensues? Well, there’s another part to it — the videos that got rejected.
You can see it at BrownandBubbly.com, then:
- click on rejects
- click on the one bottom left, Klodwig’s Radikals
- laugh at me
Talk about a lucky break…..

We just got back from a weekend trip to Washington D.C. to see Bono give a speech entitled “How to live a purpose filled life”. Melinda got the tickets through an association she is a member of and she thought it would be a cool birthday trip. — and it was. The speech focused on American foreign aid to Africa and debt relief for the nation’s poorest countries. It’s astonishing to hear the facts and to learn what an additional 1% of the US Budget can due to stop the spread of AIDS/HIV and Malaria, the #1 killer in Africa. The money buys bed nets, sends kids to school, and provides anti-retroviral medications. Take the time and go get more info at The ONE Campaign’s Website.
Melinda and I had a blast on the trip and crammed as many historical sights in as we could in a short 72 hour trip. I consider myself in good shape, but Friday almost killed me as we walked close to 8 miles in a hurried afternoon jaunt downtown before going to the speech that night. We had no idea our hotel was so far from the National Mall. Ironically, we discovered the city’s Metro subway system the very next day.
You can check out our pictures posted as a gallery of the trip.
No commentsNew year, new look
For the last couple of months I have been tinkering with redesigning my site, but I could never come up with something I liked on a platform that allowed me to do everything I wanted to do and keep things simple. Until now. A good friend of mine, Kit Pierce, brought Wordpress to my attention so I spent some time reading about the program and trying to see what the potential was for using it to build my site around. Only problem was I had been blogging off and on (more off than on) over at Blogger but I had told only a few people. I ran through the usual questions, “who would read my blog?”, “what do I have to write about?” and “who really cares?” Long story longer, Kit was gracious enough to help me tweak this thing to do what I want it to do and he’s been a huge help. Thanks, to Kit.
Here’s whats new:
My Demo Reel is now online in flash format (thanks, Drew and Rich)
The Gallery section is much better organized and totally automated for me to easily add new stuff (thanks again, Kit.) This means the moblog and Flickr accounts will soon R.I.P.
Here’s what’s old:
The baby pictures. When I first put up the old design I thought it would be funny to use some of my baby pictures because if you’ve ever met me you know how silly I am, that I don’t take my self seriously, and that I pretty much look the same, except taller and my head looks more proportionate to my body.
I was amazed to find out that everyone else thought they were funny, too. I would run into people at auditions and other places and they would just start laughing and tell me they had seen the site. When all the redesign ideas were swimming in my head, I just knew the baby pics had to stay. So the header image at the top of each page will randomly pic from an image bank of baby pics, and the obligatory current day shot.
Thanks for checking out my site. I’m going to make blogging a habit and comments are welcomed.
